On 04.02.2025 I was driving back from a walk in the industrial zone in Granadilla towards El Rio near Arico. After I had left the highway at the exit Chimiche / El Rio / Las Maretas and continued on the parallel road to El Rio, I saw a dog right by the finca on the side of the road.

At first I thought that the dog belonged to the finca and had possibly run away. So I stopped and immediately realized that the dog had not run away, but had been deliberately abandoned. She was completely frightened and confused.

I then called 112 and asked for assistance from the local police. I then contacted the Arche Noah, who offered to collect the dog and take her to the Tenerife Horse Rescue shelter.

Status – February 4, 2025 / 6:23 pm (Silvan L.)

The dog is currently in good hands with Tenerife Horse Rescue and is being taken care of.
