A new level of cruelty

For several weeks now, street dogs have been slaughtered and massacred in Turkey. Pictures and videos show a brutality and cruelty by humans that cannot be surpassed. Is media inside Turkey distorting the reality and completely misrepresenting the dogs to justify the mass murder in the name of Erdoğan. But what is actually going on with the media in Germany or Spain or in other EU member states? No reporting, no appeal, no sympathy – it is further confirmation that the media only act when profit can be made. One exception we know of is the Kronen-Zeitung in Austria, which published a small article.

How much more cruelty will the EU Parliament ignore before a Europe-wide animal welfare law is finally implemented? After Spain, with its mistreatment of dogs and hypocritical animal protection law at the top of the list of cruelty, the EU is now also accepting public mass murder in Turkey. According to our research, the Facebook group STOP the animal massacres of dogs and cats in Turkey is one of the only publicly accessible media that shows an uncensored reality, and we join this group.

The reporting from Turkish media can hardly be believed due to the contradictions in connection with the pictures and videos. Sebastian Everding from the Mensch Umwelt Tierschutz party in Germany is already active and is trying to make a difference in the EU Parliament.

Peter Maximilian confirmed via Facebook that a special intervention was used in Brussels with MEPs to counteract the massacre in Turkey. However, for geopolitical reasons, the EU does not have time to deal with this cruelty and was obviously of the opinion that the media and the public should not be allowed to take part in this special intervention and concern.

The petition on change.org against the slaughter of dogs in Turkey must also be given a wider reach under all circumstances! We therefore ask all readers to share and sign the petition in the name of all humanity! Furthermore, we believe that Turkey must be severely sanctioned by the EU for these inhumane and despicable actions. Faith in the effectiveness of the EU should not be further damaged by the inaction, ignorance and obvious inhumanity of the EU Parliament. Turkey has already been written off for all eternity by many EU citizens and will have to reckon with far-reaching losses in tourism, but political consequences are also necessary so that people like Erdoğan can no longer hold a position of power. This person must not be allowed to have any influence, neither in his own country nor in the EU!
