Incident Reporting

Users can report incidents to us, either anonymously or with personal data in accordance with our terms of use and privacy policy. These incidents serve on the one hand as a protocol for internal purposes such as reporting to the police, but these incidents also serve the public.

Warnings / Notes / Contributions

Again and again there are situations and / or incidents in the context of dogs. We also publish these on our website. Users have the option to report an incident either anonymously or with contact details. We review the incident and then assign it to the correct category accordingly.

Rescue & recovery of dogs

The core of our organization is that we, with our rescue and recovery vehicle, rescue dogs in need or recover dead dogs, for example, respectfully and properly dispose of them in the ditch. Detailed information on the operational capabilities of the emergency vehicle can be found in our statutes.

From the time of the realization of the emergency vehicle, our operational area is initially limited to the south of Tenerife. Based on demand and donation support, a second emergency vehicle can be deployed in the north of Tenerife.

For a better understanding, we have listed below possible scenarios where we can be deployed:

  1. During a hike, someone finds an injured dog. Contact has been made with the emergency services 112 and the local police have been informed. After waiting for 30 minutes, help is still not on the scene. You can then call us and we will come immediately.
  2. You find a dog that has been locked up or abandoned. The dog appears to have been at this location for some time (emaciated, injured, very dirty, etc.). There is no sign of an owner and you are unable to take the dog to your place for a few days before taking it to a shelter. You can call us and we will come immediately.
  3. You find a dog and no animal shelter is accessible and the responsible police authority does not show up. Then you can call us and we will come immediately.

There are countless scenarios in which you can call us.
When in doubt, the principle applies:

“Just call us and talk to us!”

Rescue center / rehabilitation center and sanctuary for dogs and cats

As soon as LIFE4DOGS is successfully deployed in the field, we want to raise funds for a sanctuary and rehabilitation center. The purpose of this is to get the rescued dogs and cats into a loving and safe environment as quickly as possible. In cooperation with veterinarians, the dogs in the sanctuary should receive immediate medical attention without having to fear being put back on the street.

Serious injuries take time to heal. The dogs and cats should also be given this time with us in the REHA center. With volunteer staff from the psychological and medical field, the dogs and cats should receive all the support they need from us. Only when the dogs and cats are back to a healthy and normal level will they be released for placement. This then happens in close cooperation with local animal shelters and animal protection associations.

The sanctuary and the REHA center should be completely self-sufficient in renewable energies, such as solar and / or wind systems and water treatment plants.

In particular, the REHA center should also include a dog school that supports dog owners and their four-legged friends, teaching them how to keep and train their dogs in a species-appropriate manner.

Representation on all Canary Islands

We have ambitious goals with a huge impact. Our intention is to have at least one representative office on each island of the Canary Islands. This means that there should be a rescue center with a rehabilitation center on each island, including 1-2 emergency vehicles. This huge vision of better assistance for dogs requires ongoing support through donations and other sources of income.
